Hi Brett. Gosh, you are definitely an interesting character. This is my first time on my space, it is amazing what you come across. My 18 year old son introduced me to it. Well I am amateur at Art, do college once a week. I like your nudes and other. I do nudes also. I love drawing women.I think along your lines, and always have lots of fantasies/ideas about things, but never put on paper or to practice. You may be able to give me some tips anyway. You are definitely a character. Regards Julie |

Hi, I have spent some time with your work and I find it wonderful. In the Beginning is very strong and powerful, even though it's portraying something as gentle and delicate as female body and soul. Visual essays are very interesting, too. When Signs get Real is a visual treat, but Gendered Space is something that really got me thinking...I am an interior design architecture student and I have always been interested in the relationship between architecture, interior design and identity. It is a complex issue, and your essay has just added another question to my long list of questions. Public space- public identity- private space- private identity? I think you are absolutely right...it is hard to find answers; there are always more questions. I look forward to visiting your site again. Best regards. Janja Song |

Brett's reply: First of all, thankyou! I love your reading. I grew up with strong women as role models, or at least, I could see their strengths. That is what I still look for in people I meet and photograph, their strengths. As for Gendered Space, I loved doing that essay, or exploration. I wanted to take it further and begin to look at the people or gender within the space, and not just the gender of the space. I hope maybe one day I will return to it. Brett |

Brett's reply: Thank you Cindi. You're the one that's beautiful my friend. I just try to look inside and photograph what I see. When I cannot see inside, I cannot really photograph. Brett |

Hi Brett, Scott Ellington highly rated your work and advised me to view your work in progress. This to me is an assembly of art that has a wide view yet confined to a personal nature. I think your most impressive work that speaks to me in volumes is from you Changing Shape folder "figure with ball" in wide room composition. Its simplicity and sheer volume make it a fantastic photograph. I too come from photosig and will look to visit you folio. Cheers Jamie |
Brett's reply: My apologies for the delayed reply Jamie. There have been some major upheavals in my life of recent. Please do not let this diminish my thanks, and yes I believe I will be adding to the work with Nik (a personal journey) very soon, Brett |

Anyone who can rediscover a childhood/childlike fascination with photography, "while inadvertently studying for an Associate Diploma in Applied Photography", is someone to study. Your first posting today at PhotoSIG has opened my eyes to more-communicative photographic possibilities (as though with a ballpeen hammer). I've bookmarked your homepage for frequent return visits. |

Brett's reply: Why thankyou Scott. Your obvious interest is a powerfull tonic for my heart. We all seek validation and friendship, and you have lifted and motivated my spirit. Cheers, Brett |
